Problem Note 58291: SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Netezza fails and returns "CLI open cursor" and "LIMIT" errors

When you use SAS/ACCESS Interface to Netezza, you might receive this error:
ERROR: CLI open cursor error: ERROR: 'imit 10 ' error ^ found
"LIMIT" (at char 0) expecting a keyword
The problem occurs when you use SAS/ACCESS Interface to Netezza under the following conditions:
- You are using the Netezza 7.2.0.5-P2 [Build 45588] ODBC driver.
- The BULKUNLOAD=YES option is specified in the Netezza LIBNAME statement.
- A DATA step that uses the OBS= data set option was used.
Example of Code That Produces the Error
libname test netezza server=server-name user=user-ID pwd=password database=database-name schema=schema bulkunload=yes;
data temp1;
set test.air(obs=10);
run;
Workarounds
If You Are Using SAS 9.4 M3
- Obtain the Netezza ODBC driver version 7.2.1.3 from IBM.
- Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
If You Are Using SAS 9.4 M4
- Obtain the Netezza ODBC driver version 7.2.1.3 from IBM to fix this issue.
